dc.description A Masters Dissertation Submitted to Faculty of computing and Information Management, KCA University in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Science in Data Communications.
dc.description Most public organizations have deployed Local Area Networks in their buildings to enhance sharing of resources. These networks are poorly done such that security of data and information is compromised thereby exposing data to unauthorized users who may be within or outside the organization. To ensure data/information is well secured, organizations have decided to implement Virtual Local Area Networks (VLAN) whereby users are grouped according to departments to access resources associated with their department. This research project shows how to secure data in government network infrastructure by implementing secure VLANs.
