dc.description A Research Project Submitted In Partial Fulfillment Of The Requirement For The Award Of Master Of Science In Data Communication In The Faculty Of Computing And Information Management At KCA University.
dc.description Server management has the capability to provide configuration, operations, problem fixing and performance management services between the servers and clients in different locations on the network, this is basically a responsibility ensured by Systems Administrators but it acquires them to administer and be present at the site every time leading to excessive workload. However there exist remote server management (RSM) tools but they have some limitations which include slow performance and delay that lead to inefficient inherence in reactive problem solving, lack of operation, support and capability due to off-line internet access which could be supported by Short Message Services (SMS) operation. Since these limitations do exist in the current systems then there is a need to suggest another application that can improve by applying remote server management while using a Cell Phone technology specifically SMS, which will help to track the server’s configuration, performance and fault management in real time.
